I know I shouldn’t be here. There are things to do, projects to finish, deadlines to meet. Everyone’s expecting me at home. But this sun with it’s orange hues blending magically with electric blue entices my imagination. I feel compelled to stand and watch-in awe. I try to remember the last time I saw a sunset – was it this beautiful? Maybe it was or maybe it wasn’t, but this one is. On this balcony, with this sunset is where I meet my true self!
There’s always a longing for old days and old friends. Because these are people you grew up with – they’ve seen you through lows, soared with you on highs. These are friends that matter. As I’m out on the terrace, setting up the barbeque for our reunion, it’s hard not to cherish the time we’ve spent together. Moments where I could be my true self. Waiting for them isn’t hard because I know they’ll show up. They always do. Finding people with whom belong is the perfect escape. People with whom you can just be. Your companions in the journey to you. I cherish these friends and cherish these moments -when I can be ‘me’.
There is no escape like a fictional world. Nothing comes close to what books can do. I have carried this love for escape from my childhood into my adulthood. Be it a fantasy with flying brooms, a romance in space, magical fairy tales or human stories that move you to laugh and cry – giving you a sense of belonging, creating connections from across time and space. I can never have enough of a book, each page compelling me to read on further. So, when I’m lost in a book, I can never put it down. Meetings and kids can wait. I cannot leave it unfinished. There’s a burning, curious need to what happens next.
In the midst of all the domestic tangles, there are some days I wake up with a strong urge to do something- to hold that brush again, to stain my clothes with spilled colours and make my hands dirty.
When that feeling takes over I don’t think twice, I just do it. It’s the closest to feeling like a child again, when you draw and paint because you want to get lost in the twirls of blue clouds rather than to get someone’s approval. So I paint, hiding my happiness and nostalgia in various strokes of my brush, free flowing on my canvas and free falling into my imagination.
EGO begins with a story of two brothers and their journey into adopting a healthier lifestyle.
Their love for fresh fruits and vegetables coaxed them to expanding their horizons into healthy snacking. Thus was EGO birthed from their vision.
The hunt to satisfy their cravings for crisps without any guilt led to discovering the art of blending flavours & seasonings with fruit and vegetables. The technique lies in drying and frying of fruits and vegetables in specialised conditions and thereby effectively retaining the essential nutrients and quirks like symmetry and colour.
As was the Brother’s love for innovation, so was their promise for quality which was never compromised. Each vegetable and fruit is hand-picked from the finest orchards and family farms. Then processed at state of art manufacturing units to deliver the finest quality snacks.
